EcoGrid E50 Porous Paving Grid

EcoGrid E50 Porous Paving Grid

Description

EcoGrid E50 is the strongest ground reinforcement grid in the EcoGrid range. Manufactured from 100 percent recycled polyethylene, it is a 50mm deep permeable grid designed for areas subject to high loads, heavy vehicles and repeated trafficking.

When installed and filled, EcoGrid E50 distributes extreme loads across the surface, reducing rutting, deformation and long term settlement. Its deep cell structure and thick walls provide exceptional stability, even in demanding environments such as logistics yards, loading bays and emergency access routes. The open cell design allows water to drain vertically into the ground, supporting SuDS compliant construction and reducing surface water runoff.

EcoGrid E50 is commonly used for commercial car parks, lorry parks, airports, rail and tramway access routes, construction site roads, storage yards and heavily used equestrian or agricultural areas. It is also suitable for grass or gravel reinforcement where strength and durability are critical.

Installation is straightforward despite the grid’s strength. Panels interlock securely to form a continuous surface and can be laid quickly over a well prepared sub base. A suitable non woven geotextile membrane should always be installed beneath the grid to separate the sub grade, prevent contamination and maintain long term performance.

EcoGrid E50 is designed for heavy duty use including HGVs, plant equipment and emergency vehicles. It is not necessary for domestic driveways or light traffic areas where E40 would be more appropriate.

Key Features

  • Heavy duty grid for extreme load and commercial traffic
  • 50mm depth for maximum load distribution and stability
  • Fully permeable surface supporting SuDS compliance
  • Suitable for HGVs, plant and emergency access routes
  • Interlocking system forms a strong continuous surface
  • Manufactured from recycled polyethylene for long service life

Material Composition

EcoGrid E50 is manufactured from 100 percent recycled polyethylene. The material is UV stable, chemically resistant and environmentally neutral, making it suitable for long term use in sensitive environments including agricultural land and areas near water.

Is EcoGrid E50 strong enough for heavy vehicles?

Yes. EcoGrid E50 is designed for HGVs, plant equipment and high load applications when installed over a suitable sub base.

Does EcoGrid E50 require a sub base?

Yes. A correctly designed and compacted sub base is essential. A non woven geotextile membrane should be used to separate the sub grade.

What infill materials can be used with EcoGrid E50?

EcoGrid E50 is suitable for clean angular gravel, grass and soil, or resin bound stone depending on the application.

Is EcoGrid E50 permeable?

Yes. The grid is fully permeable and allows water to drain naturally into the ground, supporting sustainable drainage design.

How long does EcoGrid E50 last?

EcoGrid E50 has unlimited lifespan certification and is supplied with a 20 year guarantee when installed correctly.
