Membrane accessories play a supporting but critical role in the correct installation of geotextile and geomembrane systems. While the membrane provides separation, filtration, reinforcement or containment, accessories ensure it is installed correctly and continues to perform once buried.

This category includes fixing pegs, ground pins and jointing tapes designed for use with woven geotextiles, non woven geotextiles and impermeable geomembranes. Fixings are used to hold membranes in position during installation, particularly on slopes, uneven sub grades or exposed sites where wind, foot traffic or handling can cause movement before the sub base is placed.

Jointing tapes are used to manage overlaps and maintain continuity between membrane sheets. Single sided cloth tapes are used with permeable geotextiles to keep overlaps aligned during construction without restricting drainage. Double sided butyl tapes are used with impermeable membranes where a sealed joint is required to prevent water or gas tracking between layers.

Selecting the correct accessory depends on membrane type, ground conditions and application. Soft or loose ground may require longer or barbed plastic fixings, while slopes and higher load areas often benefit from steel pins with greater holding strength. Impermeable systems rely on compatible sealing tapes and correct joint detailing to maintain performance.

Using the right accessories reduces installation issues, limits membrane displacement and helps ensure the overall ground build up performs as designed over the long term.
