EcoGrid Limited are best known for their permeable plastic grid systems designed to reinforce trafficked surfaces without creating an impermeable build up.

In domestic settings, EcoGrid is commonly used for gravel driveways, overflow parking and grass reinforcement. The grid confines the aggregate or soil within each cell, reducing lateral movement and rutting. This is particularly useful on clay sub grades where sub base movement and pumping of fines can lead to surface failure.

In commercial applications, EcoGrid systems are installed beneath car parks, access routes and event spaces. The cellular structure spreads load across a wider area, reducing pressure on the underlying ground. When specified correctly with a non woven geotextile membrane such as NW8 or EG80, the system prevents migration of fines into the sub base while maintaining permeability.

For equestrian projects, EcoGrid is often used in paddocks, turnout areas and wash down zones. It helps control mud by separating the surface from the sub grade and containing the infill material within the grid structure.

EcoGrid systems are permeable and support SuDS compliant designs. However, performance depends on correct excavation depth, sub base specification and membrane selection. On very weak or waterlogged ground, additional stabilisation such as geogrid reinforcement or increased sub base thickness may still be required.
