Black G90 Woven Geotextile Membrane Cuts 100gsm

Black G90 Woven Geotextile Membrane Cuts 100gsm

Description

Black G90 woven geotextile membrane cuts are designed for small to medium landscaping projects where stabilisation and weed control are required without the need for a full roll. Manufactured from woven polypropylene, this 100gsm membrane offers good tensile strength and durability while remaining easy to install.

When installed beneath gravel, decorative stone or paving, G90 helps reduce movement within the sub base and limits the migration of soil into aggregate layers. This improves long term surface stability and helps maintain a clean, even finish. The black woven structure blocks light effectively, making it suitable for weed suppression when fully covered.

Unlike non woven membranes, G90 is not intended to provide fine filtration. While water can pass through the fabric, it should not be used where retention of fine soil particles is critical, such as on clay heavy ground or in drainage applications. On weak or silty soils, a non woven geotextile may be more appropriate.

Typical uses include garden paths, patios, shed bases, decking areas, gravel driveways with light traffic and general landscaping projects. The membrane must always be buried and covered with aggregate, paving or soil and should not be left exposed.

Supplied in cut lengths, these G90 membranes are folded and boxed for ease of transport and installation, helping reduce waste and making them suitable for DIY users and small contractors.

About this collection

Woven Geotextile Membranes

Woven geotextile membranes are high strength fabrics used for ground stabilisation, reinforcement and long term load distribution in trafficked or weak ground conditions.

Is Black G90 suitable for weed control?

Yes. When installed beneath gravel, bark or paving and fully covered, it is effective at suppressing weed growth by blocking light

Can this membrane be used under driveways?

It can be used under light duty gravel driveways. For higher traffic or heavier loads, a heavier woven or non woven geotextile should be considered.

Does water drain through the membrane?

Yes, water can pass through the fabric. It does not provide fine filtration and should not be used where soil fines need to be retained.

Woven or non woven geotextile, what’s the difference?

Woven geotextile membranes are designed primarily for stabilisation and reinforcement. They offer high tensile strength and help spread loads over weak ground. Non woven membranes focus on filtration and separation, allowing water to pass through while retaining fine particles. The correct choice depends on ground conditions and the role the membrane needs to perform.

Can a woven geotextile be used on its own?

It depends on the application and soil type. Woven membranes work well on firm or granular sub grades where stabilisation is the priority. On clay, silt or very fine soils, a non woven membrane may be required to provide filtration, either instead of or in addition to a woven fabric.
