EnviroCrate H10 100L Shallow Storm Soakaway Crate

EnviroCrate H10 100L Shallow Storm Soakaway Crate

Description

The EnviroCrate H10 is a shallow depth stormwater soakaway and attenuation crate designed for installations where excavation depth is limited. With a profile of just 100 mm, it is commonly used beneath roof gardens, landscaped areas, podium decks, sports surfaces and shallow build ups where conventional soakaway crates are impractical.

Each unit provides 100 litres of water storage with a 91 percent void ratio, allowing efficient stormwater management while keeping overall system depth to a minimum. The modular 1 m x 1 m format allows tanks to be built in flexible layouts, making the system suitable for both residential and commercial SuDS applications.

EnviroCrate H10 can be used for infiltration soakaways when wrapped in a permeable non woven geotextile membrane, preventing soil fines from entering the system while allowing controlled discharge into the surrounding ground. For attenuation or water storage systems, the crates should be encapsulated in an impermeable geomembrane with a protection fleece.

Despite its shallow depth, the crate offers high compressive and lateral strength and is suitable for trafficked areas when installed with the correct cover depth and backfill. Typical applications include car parks, landscaped podiums, roof gardens and areas with limited formation depth.

Limitations should be assessed early. Infiltration performance depends on ground permeability, and cover requirements increase with vehicle loading. Ground conditions and groundwater levels must be considered during design.

Is this suitable for shallow dig installations?

Yes. The 100 mm profile makes EnviroCrate H10 suitable where excavation depth is restricted, such as roof gardens and podium decks.

Can this be used under vehicle traffic?

Yes, provided the correct minimum cover depth is achieved. Cover requirements increase with axle load.

Is it suitable for soakaway infiltration systems?

Yes. Use a non woven geotextile membrane to allow water to pass into the surrounding ground while preventing soil ingress.

Can it be used for water storage or reuse?

Yes. When wrapped in an impermeable geomembrane, it can be used for attenuation or grey water storage systems.

How many crates are needed per cubic metre?

Ten crates provide approximately 1 m³ of water storage.
