NW6 White Non-Woven Geotextile Membrane 80gsm

The NW6 Non Woven Geotextile Membrane is a thermally bonded, permeable fleece membrane designed to provide separation and filtration within the ground. It allows water to drain freely while limiting the upward movement of fines into clean stone or sub base layers.

NW6 is commonly used in domestic and light duty projects where loading is modest and ground conditions are relatively stable. Typical applications include patios, footpaths, shed bases, French drains, trench lining, soakaway wrapping and general landscaping works. It is also suitable as a separation layer beneath gravel or MOT Type 1 in pedestrian areas.

Installed correctly, NW6 helps maintain the integrity of the build up by keeping aggregates clean and reducing the risk of settlement caused by soil migration. It can also assist with basic weed suppression by blocking light and limiting soil disturbance beneath the surface.

The membrane should be laid directly onto a prepared sub grade, free from sharp protrusions. Overlaps of approximately 300 to 450 mm are recommended, increased where ground conditions are softer. Aggregates should be placed carefully to avoid dragging or puncturing the fabric.

NW6 is a lightweight membrane and has clear limits. It is not intended for reinforcement, heavy vehicle trafficking or very weak sub grades such as saturated clay. For higher loads or demanding ground conditions, a heavier non woven grade should be specified.
