TCS TechGrid BX Biaxial Geogrid Reinforcement Mesh

TCS TechGrid BX Biaxial Geogrid Reinforcement Mesh

Description

TCS TechGrid BX is a biaxial polypropylene geogrid designed for soil stabilisation and structural reinforcement. It is a permeable, extruded geogrid that provides equal tensile strength in both machine and cross directions, allowing loads to be spread evenly across the sub grade.

When installed within granular layers, TechGrid BX improves interlock between aggregate particles. This reduces lateral movement, increases bearing capacity and limits deformation under repeated loading. The result is a more stable formation layer and reduced risk of rutting, settlement or pumping, particularly over weak or variable ground.

TechGrid BX is commonly used in road construction, access tracks, car parks, working platforms and hardstandings. It is also suitable for reinforcement beneath pavements and foundations where sub base thickness needs to be controlled. On poor soils, the use of a biaxial geogrid can reduce excavation depth and aggregate volume while maintaining performance.

The grid should be installed on a prepared, level sub grade and typically used in conjunction with a non woven geotextile membrane to provide separation and prevent fines migration. Overlaps should follow project specification and the grid must be covered with aggregate within one month of installation to prevent UV exposure.

This range is available in three strength grades to suit varying load demands, from light duty access routes through to heavier trafficked applications.

Key Features

  • Biaxial reinforcement with equal strength in both directions
  • Improves load distribution and bearing capacity
  • Reduces sub base thickness on weak ground
  • Extruded polypropylene for long term durability
  • Suitable for roads, platforms and hardstandings
  • Compatible with non woven separation membranes

Material Composition

TechGrid BX is manufactured from extruded polypropylene. This provides resistance to naturally occurring acids, alkalis, bacteria and fungi found in soil environments, supporting long service life when buried.

About this collection

Reinforcement Mesh

Reinforcement mesh is used to strengthen ground and surfaces by distributing loads and limiting movement within concrete, screed or aggregate layers.

What is TechGrid BX used for?

It is used for soil reinforcement and stabilisation in roads, pavements, hardstandings and working platforms. It improves load spread and reduces movement in granular layers.

Which BX grade should I choose?

BX20 suits light duty access and platforms, BX30 is used for general road and car park construction, and BX40 is selected for higher load or weaker ground conditions.

Do I need a geotextile membrane with this grid?

Yes in most cases. A non woven geotextile beneath the grid provides separation and prevents fines migrating into the aggregate.

How is the grid installed?

The grid is rolled directly onto a prepared sub grade, overlapped to specification and covered with aggregate. It must not be left exposed for more than one month.

How long will TechGrid BX last underground?

When buried in suitable soil conditions, it has a predicted service life of at least 50 years.
