TNW2000 White Non-Woven Geotextile Membrane 200gsm

TNW2000 White Non-Woven Geotextile Membrane 200gsm

Description

This product is a white, non woven, permeable geotextile membrane manufactured from UV stabilised polypropylene staple fibres using a needle punched process. At 200gsm, TNW2000 offers high tensile strength and puncture resistance, making it suitable for heavy duty separation and filtration applications.

In the ground, the membrane allows water to pass freely through the fabric while preventing fine soils from migrating into clean aggregate layers. This helps maintain drainage performance, protects the integrity of the sub base and reduces long term settlement caused by contamination of the stone layer.

TNW2000 is commonly specified beneath driveways, access roads, car parks and hardstanding where regular vehicle traffic is expected. It is also used as a robust filtration layer in French drains, soakaways and attenuation systems, particularly where the sub grade is weak, clay based or variable.

This grade is well suited to installations where lower weight membranes may be damaged during construction or compromised by sharp aggregates. The combination of tensile strength and elongation allows the membrane to flex under load while resisting puncture and tearing.

Install TNW2000 on a prepared sub grade free from sharp protrusions. Overlap adjacent sheets by at least 300mm, increasing to 500mm on soft or uneven ground. The membrane should be covered promptly with aggregate to prevent damage during installation.

Key Features

  • Heavy duty non woven geotextile for separation and filtration
  • High puncture resistance for trafficked and poor ground conditions
  • Allows water flow while retaining fine soils
  • Suitable for driveways, car parks and access roads
  • Performs well on clay or variable sub grades
  • Supplied in a full width roll for efficient coverage

Material Composition

Manufactured from UV stabilised polypropylene staple fibres using a needle punched construction. This provides a permeable membrane with high mechanical strength and resistance to installation damage.

Non Woven Geotextile Membranes

About this collection

Non Woven Geotextile Membranes

Non woven geotextile membranes are permeable fleece fabrics used for ground separation, filtration and drainage. They allow water to pass through while preventing soil fines migrating into aggregate layers.

When do professionals specify TNW2000 instead of 160gsm?

TNW2000 is chosen when traffic levels increase, ground conditions are poor or where the cost of failure is high.

Is TNW2000 suitable for commercial or shared access areas?

Yes. It is well suited to areas with regular vehicle movement such as shared driveways, car parks and access roads.

What does TNW2000 protect against in real terms?

It reduces the risk of membrane rupture during installation and long term contamination of the sub base under repeated loading.

What does a TNW non woven membrane actually do in the ground?

It separates soil from aggregate while still allowing water to drain. This stops fine material being pumped up into the stone layer, which is one of the main causes of settlement and loss of drainage over time.

How long will a TNW membrane last once buried?

When installed correctly and covered promptly, TNW membranes are designed for permanent underground use and will perform for the full service life of the build.
