TNW3000 White Non-Woven Geotextile Membrane 300gsm

TNW3000 White Non-Woven Geotextile Membrane 300gsm

Description

This product is a white, non woven, permeable geotextile membrane manufactured from UV stabilised polypropylene staple fibres using a needle punched process. At 300gsm, TNW3000 is the heaviest grade in the TNW range and is designed for applications where high puncture resistance, durability and long term performance are required.

In the ground, the membrane allows water to pass through the fabric while preventing the migration of fine soils into surrounding aggregates. Its primary role is separation and filtration, but at this weight it also provides effective protection to underlying components such as geomembranes, soakaway crates and attenuation tanks.

TNW3000 is commonly specified as a protection fleece in SuDS installations, including soakaways and attenuation systems. In soakaway applications it is often used on its own, while in attenuation tanks it is typically installed as a protective layer around impermeable geomembranes to reduce the risk of puncture during backfilling. It is also suitable for use beneath access roads, car parks, industrial hardstanding and other heavily trafficked areas.

This grade performs well on weak, clay or variable sub grades and where sharp aggregates or high installation stresses are expected. The combination of high tensile strength and elongation allows the membrane to flex under load while resisting tearing and puncture.

Lay the membrane on a prepared sub grade free from sharp protrusions. Overlap joints by a minimum of 300mm, increasing to 500mm on poor ground. Cover promptly with aggregate to avoid damage during construction.

Key Features

  • Very heavy duty non woven geotextile for separation and filtration
  • High puncture resistance for protection of soakaways and geomembranes
  • Suitable for SuDS, attenuation systems and poor ground conditions
  • Performs well under high loads and sharp aggregates
  • Allows water flow while retaining fine soils
  • Available in multiple roll sizes for site flexibility

Material Composition

Manufactured from UV stabilised polypropylene staple fibres using a needle punched construction. This produces a thick, permeable membrane with high mechanical strength and excellent resistance to installation damage.

About this collection

Non Woven Geotextile Membranes

Non woven geotextile membranes are permeable fleece fabrics used for ground separation, filtration and drainage. They allow water to pass through while preventing soil fines migrating into aggregate layers.

Why is TNW3000 often described as a protection fleece?

At 300gsm it does more than separate soil. It protects soakaway crates, geomembranes and drainage systems from puncture during backfilling and compaction.

When is TNW3000 the only sensible option?

When installing soakaways, attenuation tanks or working in very poor ground where failure would be expensive or disruptive to fix.

Is TNW3000 too heavy for normal groundworks?

For patios and paths, yes. For SuDS, deep excavations and high risk installations, it is the correct choice.

What does a TNW non woven membrane actually do in the ground?

It separates soil from aggregate while still allowing water to drain. This stops fine material being pumped up into the stone layer, which is one of the main causes of settlement and loss of drainage over time.

How long will a TNW membrane last once buried?

When installed correctly and covered promptly, TNW membranes are designed for permanent underground use and will perform for the full service life of the build.
