TS1000 Orange Non-Woven Geotextile Membrane

TS1000 Orange Non-Woven Geotextile Membrane

Description

TS1000 Orange is a non woven geotextile membrane manufactured from UV stabilised polypropylene using a mechanically bonded continuous filament process. Unlike standard white geotextiles, this product is designed to act as both a functional separation layer and a highly visible warning membrane within the ground.

In service, TS1000 Orange provides effective separation between soil and aggregate while maintaining high permeability. This prevents the intermixing of materials and supports drainage performance, while the bright orange colour clearly signals the presence of a controlled or contaminated layer during future excavation works.

This membrane is commonly specified on contaminated land projects, brownfield developments and sites where a visual marker is required as part of the ground build up. It is also used as a warning layer above capped soils, around excavation zones and within infrastructure projects where accidental re-entry into contaminated material must be avoided.

The continuous filament construction provides high elongation and good resistance to installation damage, allowing the membrane to flex under stress without tearing. Its puncture resistance and hydraulic performance make it suitable for use beneath granular fills and around drainage systems where both filtration and visibility are required.

TS1000 Orange is not intended to replace heavier protection fleeces or barrier membranes. Its primary role is separation, filtration and visual identification within the ground.

Install TS1000 Orange on a prepared sub grade free from sharp protrusions. Overlap adjacent sheets by a minimum of 300mm, increasing on soft or uneven ground. The membrane should be covered promptly to prevent UV exposure and installation damage.

Key Features

  • High visibility orange geotextile for warning and identification
  • Provides separation and filtration in one layer
  • Continuous filament construction for flexibility and durability
  • Allows water flow while retaining fine soils
  • Resistant to installation damage during groundworks
  • Suitable for contaminated land and controlled excavation zones

Material Composition

Manufactured from UV stabilised polypropylene using a mechanically bonded continuous filament non woven process. This construction provides high elongation, durability and consistent hydraulic performance.

About this collection

Non Woven Geotextile Membranes

Non woven geotextile membranes are permeable fleece fabrics used for ground separation, filtration and drainage. They allow water to pass through while preventing soil fines migrating into aggregate layers.

Why would I choose an orange geotextile instead of a standard white one?

The orange colour provides a clear visual warning layer during future excavation works. This is particularly important on contaminated or controlled sites where accidental re-entry into underlying material must be avoided.

Is TS1000 Orange only a warning layer or does it also perform structurally?

It performs both roles. TS1000 Orange provides effective separation and filtration while also acting as a visible marker within the ground build-up.

Where is TS1000 Orange most commonly specified?

It is commonly used on contaminated land, brownfield developments and infrastructure projects where a visible marker layer is required as part of the site design or remediation strategy.

What does a non-woven geotextile actually do in the ground?

A non-woven geotextile separates soil from aggregate while still allowing water to drain. This prevents fine material from contaminating the sub-base, which is a common cause of settlement and drainage failure over time.

Is this membrane suitable for permanent underground use?

Yes. When installed correctly and covered promptly, TCS non-woven geotextiles are designed for long-term buried applications and will perform for the life of the structure.
