EcoGrid Steel J Pins for Permeable Paving Fixing

EcoGrid Steel J Pins are heavy duty steel ground fixings used to improve stability in permeable paving and ground reinforcement installations. They are most commonly specified where grids are installed on slopes, embankments or areas where there is a risk of lateral movement during or after installation.

The pins are driven through the grid structure and into the sub grade, anchoring the system in place. This helps prevent creep or movement while infill is placed and compacted, particularly on steeper gradients or uneven ground. They can also be used to secure geotextile membranes beneath grids, turf reinforcement systems or other ground stabilisation products.

In most flat installations, EcoGrid systems remain stable without fixings. J Pins are therefore typically used as an additional safety measure rather than a standard requirement. As a general guide, three pins per square metre is usually sufficient, although this can vary depending on ground conditions, slope angle and loading.

These J Pins are manufactured from steel and formed to provide strong resistance once driven into the ground. They are suitable for use with both grass and gravel filled permeable paving systems, as well as standalone hard standing and turf reinforcement applications.

Supplied in bulk packs to suit commercial and contractor use.

Limitations. J Pins provide restraint only and do not replace correct sub base preparation or edge restraint.
