K-Mat Heavy Duty Roadway Panels 40mm

K-Mat Heavy Duty Roadway Panels 40mm

Description

K-Mat Heavy Duty Roadway Panels are large format composite road mats designed to create safe, stable temporary roads and working platforms for very high load applications. Manufactured as a single piece from recycled ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, they deliver exceptional strength, durability and load distribution.

These panels are used where conventional access solutions struggle, including construction and infrastructure projects, utilities maintenance, crane pads, compound access roads, temporary car parks and large scale outdoor events. They are specifically suited to extremely heavy wheeled plant and vehicles operating on soft, weak or sensitive ground.

Each panel features a dual grip design. One side incorporates a high profile traction surface intended for vehicle and plant movement, while the reverse side provides a lower profile non slip surface suitable for pedestrian access or working platforms. This makes the panels adaptable to mixed use environments where both machinery and personnel operate.

At 40mm thick and weighing 295kg, K-Mat panels are designed for mechanical installation using lifting equipment such as a Hiab or heavy duty forklift. Once installed, panels can be secured together using metal strap connectors to form continuous roadways or large load bearing platforms.

K-Mat panels have a suggested working load of 100 tonnes and are weight tested up to 160 tonnes depending on ground conditions. Sub grade strength, vehicle type and load distribution must always be assessed before use.

Steel tracked vehicles are not suitable unless pre authorised. Aggressive manoeuvring should be avoided and a site speed limit of 5mph must be observed.

Are these panels suitable for very heavy plant and vehicles?

Yes, within the stated load limits. Ground conditions must be assessed and loads kept within what the sub grade can safely support.

Do these panels require mechanical installation?

Yes. Due to their size and weight, specialist lifting equipment such as a Hiab or heavy duty forklift is required.

Can the panels be used as pedestrian working platforms?

Yes. The reverse side provides a lower profile non slip surface suitable for pedestrian access and work areas.

Are steel tracked vehicles allowed?

No. Steel tracked vehicles should not be used unless pre authorised, as they can damage the mats and connectors.

Can the panels be reused across multiple projects?

Yes. They are designed for repeated installation, removal and storage over long service life.
