Elite GSS specialise in ground protection mats and temporary access solutions designed to prevent ground damage and improve site safety.

Their heavy duty matting systems are typically used where plant, vehicles or foot traffic need to cross soft ground, grass or made up surfaces without causing rutting. The mats spread imposed loads across a wider footprint, reducing point loading and protecting the sub grade below.

In construction and utilities projects, Elite GSS mats are commonly installed to form temporary haul roads, crane pads and site access routes. On weaker clay soils or saturated ground, the mats help reduce surface deformation. However, they are not a substitute for full ground stabilisation where long term loading is expected.

For events and short term installations, matting is used to protect lawns, sports fields and landscaped areas from trafficking damage. Connection systems allow panels to be joined securely, forming a continuous working surface.

In some projects, ground protection mats are used in conjunction with a geotextile membrane beneath to reduce contamination of the surface and limit fines migration into the ground, particularly on muddy sites.

Elite GSS systems are suited to temporary or relocatable installations. For permanent driveways or reinforced surfaces, a porous paving grid or cellular confinement system may be more appropriate.

Correct selection depends on load weight, duration of use and existing ground conditions.
