Spudulica focus on supplying geotextile membranes in practical roll sizes for smaller installations.
Standard trade rolls are often 4.5m or 5.25m wide and can be heavy and difficult to position on domestic sites. Spudulica products are cut into narrower widths and shorter lengths, making them easier to transport, handle and install without mechanical assistance.
The membranes themselves perform the same core functions as full width materials. Non woven geotextile membranes provide separation and filtration beneath patios, shed bases, garden paths and gravel driveways. They prevent fines from clay or silty sub grades migrating into the sub base while still allowing water to drain naturally.
Woven geotextiles are used where higher tensile strength is required. In light duty driveways or garden access routes, they assist with stabilisation and help distribute loads across weaker ground.
Spudulica membranes are suited to domestic and light duty applications. On larger areas, commercial projects or very weak and saturated ground, heavier duty grades and full width rolls may be more appropriate.
Correct installation still applies. Overlaps of 300mm to 500mm are typically recommended depending on ground conditions, and the membrane should always sit directly on the prepared sub grade before aggregate is placed.
Spudulica offers the same ground performance in a more manageable format for smaller projects.
