EcoGrid Angled Section for E40 and E50 Permeable Paving

EcoGrid Angled Section for E40 and E50 Permeable Paving

Description

The EcoGrid Angled Section is a specialist hinge style accessory designed to allow EcoGrid porous paving systems to transition smoothly from horizontal surfaces into sloped or vertical installations. It enables a continuous grid structure to be maintained across changes in level without cutting or forcing standard grid panels.

This accessory is particularly useful where a reinforced surface such as a gravel car park, access track or pathway meets an embankment, bund or retained slope. By allowing the grid system to fold through angles from approximately 90 degrees up to 180 degrees, the angled section maintains load continuity and helps prevent edge failure or material migration at changes in level.

Typical applications include embankments behind car parks, reinforced dunes, bunds, slope stabilisation, roadside verges and transitions between flat paving and retained ground. It can also be used in uneven terrain where gradual or sharp changes in gradient are present.

The angled section clips directly into adjacent EcoGrid panels, forming a universal hinge connection. This makes installation straightforward and avoids the need for bespoke cutting or site fabrication. Units are installed inline with the grid layout to create a controlled and reinforced change in direction.

Variants are available to suit both E40 and E50 grid depths. The correct option must be selected to match the grid system used on site.

Limitations. Angled sections are connectors and should be used in conjunction with standard EcoGrid panels, not as standalone reinforcement.

Key Features

  • Enables continuous EcoGrid installation from horizontal to vertical
  • Suitable for embankments, slopes and retained ground
  • Operates across a wide angle range up to 180 degrees
  • Clips directly into EcoGrid panels without cutting
  • Helps reduce edge failure at changes in level
  • Available to suit E40 and E50 grid depths

Material Composition

Manufactured from high density polyethylene suitable for ground reinforcement applications. The material provides flexibility at hinge points while maintaining durability and resistance to environmental exposure.

What is the EcoGrid Angled Section used for?

It is used to connect EcoGrid panels where the installation changes from flat ground to a slope or vertical face.

Can it be used on steep embankments?

Yes. The angled section is designed to accommodate both shallow and steep gradients, up to a near vertical transition.

Do I need one for every grid panel at the slope?

Typically yes. Angled sections are installed across the width of the transition to maintain continuous reinforcement.

Is this compatible with both E40 and E50 grids?

Yes. Variants are available for E40 and E50. The correct option must match the grid depth used.

Does this replace retaining structures?

No. It assists with surface reinforcement and continuity but does not replace engineered retaining systems where these are required.
