Geotextile Membranes are part of Jayso Construction Products Ltd and focus specifically on geotextile and geomembrane solutions for ground construction, drainage and environmental projects.

The range includes permeable non woven membranes for separation and filtration, woven geotextiles for stabilisation and reinforcement, and specialist impermeable geomembranes for water containment and protection.

Non woven geotextile membranes are typically installed between sub grade and sub base to prevent the migration of fines into aggregate layers. This is particularly important on clay or silty soils where contamination can reduce load bearing capacity and cause rutting. In drainage applications such as French drains and soakaways, they allow water to pass through while retaining soil particles.

Woven geotextiles provide higher tensile strength and are used where ground stabilisation is required. They distribute imposed loads across a wider area and are commonly specified beneath driveways, car parks, access roads and equestrian arena base layers. In landscaping, they are also used for weed suppression.

Heavy duty and specialist grades include needle punched fabrics for increased puncture resistance, warning membranes for contaminated land and impermeable geomembranes for attenuation tanks and lining works.

Correct specification depends on ground strength, loading and design life. Light grades suit patios and footpaths, while trafficked or weak ground conditions require heavier duty membranes.

Selecting the correct fabric at the outset reduces settlement, drainage problems and premature surface failure.
